Entry Requirements
1.Graduating high school students or obtained a senior high school diploma, physically and mentally healthy foreigners.
2. According to the regulations released by Ministry of Education, P. R. China, if parent(s) was (were) a Chinese citizen settling in a foreign country at the time applicants were born, applicants must have obtained their current foreign citizenship before April 30, 2022. In addition, the applicant must have lived outside China for at least 2 years during the period between May 1, 2022 and April 30, 2026 (The actual residence in a foreign country for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit signatures).
This requirement shall also be met by those who apply for undergraduate study as international students after immigrating from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and obtaining foreign nationality.

3. TOEFL (≥80), IELTS (≥5.5),

Program Highlights
- HUST can accept MBBS international students, which is one of 30 universities qualified by the MOE of China.
- A new teaching arrangement, 2+2+2, has been adopted by the university, which means that the language of instruction in the first two years is completely English, for the next two years is combined English and Chinese, and for the last two years is completely Chinese.
- As HUST is recognized by WHO, the graduates who study MBBS program are able to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries.
- Tongji Medical College which is a medical college co-built by the MOE and MOH in China was initially founded by the German Doctor Bolon at Shanghai in 1907.

Program Description
1. Training Goal

2. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: This program lasts for 6 years.
- The Pre-Med Education for Chinese language training and English instruction of high school level courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be taught in the first year.
- The medical courses in Tongji Medical College then will be taught.
- Clinical practice will be taught in the last year.

Editor Notes: There are no requirements on HSK level for students to get the diploma, but before internship, students need to pass the HSK Level 5.
- Students should complete the requirements of the teaching program and pass the graduation examinations successfully.
- A graduation certificate and a medical degree will be given by HUST.
- The degree in English copy will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).
- If students obtain MBBS Degree, they are eligible to apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council to get registered and practice medicine.
- Graduates with MBBS degree can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities.
- Graduates can also open up his own clinic or pursue study for master’s degree.
5. Internship
Editor Notes: The internship is arranged in the last year and students can do it only in China.
- If students want to communicate well with Chinese patients, they need to pass the HSK Level 5 before internship.
- One of the affiliated hospitals - Tongji Affiliated Hospital and Union Affiliated Hospital will be choosen for internship.
- The Union Affiliated Hospital is the large comprehensive hospital directly under the MOH.
- Tongji Hospital has 2,500 beds, of Level A and Grade III.
- Students should pay RMB 40,000 per year as the tuition fee in the internship year.
- The final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation should be taken before graduation.

7. Tongji Medical College

- Inter-university project cooperation have been established with more than 40 universities, institutes, hospitals and companies.
- The College is a medical college which was built by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health in China.
- There are 3 key laboratories of MOE and 2 of MOH.
- The college owns the largest experiment and clinical research center in China.
- The buildings along three streets into shops for science and technology trade have been built by the College.
- The college has a staff of 10,000 and 8,800 students are studying on campus, among them, about 500 are international students in MBBS program.

*10. Physical Examination Form
-Download the form template, print it, and bring it to a hospital for the required medical tests. The hospital will complete the form with your results.

-Ensure your photo is attached and the form is stamped and signed by the hospital after the examination.
-The medical results are valid for 6 months only.
-Forms that are incomplete, lack a final physician’s suggestion, missing the attending physician’s signature, official hospital stamp, or applicant’s sealed photo will be considered invalid.
